Becoming the World
written by renowned storyteller and educator Laura Simms, with
illustrations by Jane Wingfield and published by MercyCorps, is a
powerful workbook developed for storytellers, teachers, child
psychologists, social workers, and caregivers of all sorts and ages to
use storytelling as a inner guide to uncovering tolerance and wisdom.
The workbook, funded by a September 11th Fund supported by Hasbro, Inc.
includes stories from all over the world, suggested activities to help
process the stories, and many guidelines for how to actually work with
story to ground us and illuminate the meaning of our lives. This
workbook is unique in its scope and the culmination of Laura's
remarkable work throughout the world for the last twenty-five years.
