Memoirist Joyce Zonana, who writes about Hurricane Katrina, joins Laura Simms, on her return from Haiti, for a storied conversation about why and how to tell one’s story after a tragedy or disaster.

Joyce Zonana was born in 1949 to a Jewish family in Cairo, Egypt. Currently, she is an associate professor of English at Borough of Manhattan Community College, a part of the City University of New York. She has published numerous academic and personal essays, and is currently celebrating the publication of her memoir, Dream Homes: From Cairo to Katrina, An Exile’s Journey. Order it now.
